Has your Google Business Profile appeal been rejected or marked “Not approved”? Do not submit duplicate appeals while a decision is pending, and do not create a replacement profile for the same business. First check the decision in Google’s appeals tool, review the policy linked to it and prepare consistent evidence.

What “Not approved” means
A rejected appeal means Google did not reverse the selected moderation decision. It does not, by itself, reveal whether the problem was eligibility, profile information, evidence quality or another policy issue. Google currently lists appeal statuses including Submitted, Approved, Not approved, Can’t be appealed and Eligible for appeal.
Reinstatement is never guaranteed. Google controls appeal eligibility, review times and the final decision. A useful review therefore starts with evidence and policy compliance, not promises about a result.
Why a Google Business Profile appeal may be rejected
Google does not always provide a detailed explanation. These are areas to check, not a diagnosis of every case:
Business or location eligibility
A Business Profile is generally intended for a business that makes in-person contact with customers during its stated hours. Confirm that the business model and location qualify under Google’s rules.
Profile information
Review the business name, address, service area, category, phone number, website and opening hours. The profile should represent the real-world business accurately, including the correct address visibility for service-area businesses.
Missing or inconsistent evidence
Google lists official business registration, a business licence, tax certificates and business utility bills as evidence examples. The business name and address on the documents should match the profile being appealed.
The evidence window expired
Google’s instructions say optional evidence must be submitted within 60 minutes of submitting the appeal. Prepare the files before starting.
Duplicate appeals or profiles
Google says not to submit multiple appeals for the same issue before receiving a decision and not to create a new Business Profile for the same business while an appeal is under review.
What to do after a Google Business Profile appeal is rejected
1. Check the official appeal status
Sign in with the Google Account associated with the profile and open the Google Business Profile appeals tool. Record the status, moderation reason, policy link and case information shown.
2. Review the linked policy
Compare the profile with Google’s guidelines for representing your business. Make only changes needed to make the information accurate and compliant; do not repeatedly alter fields without evidence.
3. Prepare relevant evidence
- Official business registration
- Business licence, where applicable
- Tax certificates
- Recent business utility bills, such as electricity, phone, cable or internet
Check that the name and address are consistent with the profile. Additional factual material may help explain the business setup, but it should not contradict the official records.
4. Write a concise factual explanation
State what the business does, how it serves customers, which decision is being appealed, what was corrected and what each document proves. Avoid unsupported accusations or claims.
5. Use only the route Google makes available
For UK businesses, Google directs suspended or disabled profile appeals through the appeals tool. If the tool shows no moderated content or restricted access to appeal, Google advises contacting support so its team can confirm whether a new appeal is available.
6. Submit evidence on time and monitor the case
If offered, submit the evidence form within 60 minutes of submitting the appeal. Keep a copy of the files and case reference. Google says appeal reviews and decisions can take up to five working days, although individual cases can vary. Do not file duplicate appeals while waiting.
What not to do
- Do not create a new profile for the same business while an appeal is under review.
- Do not submit multiple appeals for the same issue before a decision.
- Do not upload conflicting or irrelevant documents.
- Do not use paperwork to conceal an ineligible location or business model.
- Do not publish sensitive business documents in a public forum.
- Do not rely on an agency promising guaranteed reinstatement or private approval channels.
How One Digital assesses a rejected appeal
- Status and history: decision, dates, case references and previous submissions.
- Eligibility and compliance: business model, customer contact, address or service-area setup and profile fields.
- Evidence review: whether records are current, relevant and consistent.
- Appeal preparation: an organised evidence checklist and factual explanation.
- Submission support: guidance through the official route shown for the case.
- Follow-up: review of Google’s response and the next permitted step, if one exists.
Google controls appeal eligibility, timing and final decisions. One Digital does not guarantee reinstatement or claim access to private approval channels.
How we document case results
Where a client gives permission, a credible case result should record the business type and region, initial status, compliance issue identified, evidence prepared, official route used, decision date and outcome. Confidential details are removed. We do not publish invented recovery percentages or imply that one result guarantees another.

Frequently asked questions
Can I appeal again after my Google Business Profile appeal was rejected?
Possibly. Check the status and available action in Google’s appeals tool. If no eligible decision appears, Google says to contact support so the team can confirm whether another appeal is available.
How long should I wait?
Google does not state a mandatory 7-, 10- or 14-day waiting period after rejection. Confirm the previous decision is complete, review the policy and prepare the evidence before using any option Google provides. Google says an active appeal can take up to five working days.
What evidence does Google list?
Google lists official business registration, a business licence, tax certificates and business utility bills such as electricity, phone, cable or internet. The name and address should match the appealed profile.
Do I have 60 minutes to complete the whole appeal?
Google’s wording is more specific: optional evidence must be submitted within 60 minutes of submitting the appeal. Prepare it in advance.
Can an agency guarantee reinstatement?
No. An agency can audit compliance, organise evidence and help prepare a submission, but Google decides eligibility and reinstatement.
